Motor Fleet

Third-Party Motor Liability Insurance is compulsory for all vehicles circulating on public roads, under Decree n.º 35/09 de 11 de Agosto. This insurance covers property damage and bodily injury caused to third parties, for which the insured is considered liable.

Motor Fleet Insurance may also cover damage to the insured vehicle, in which case it is said to offer Comprehensive Cover. This optional cover includes damage related to Fire, Lightning and Explosion, Crash, Collision and Rollover, Theft, Glass/Windscreen, Flood and Water, Riots and Strikes, Vandalism, etc.

Some policies also offer Occupants cover, as well as assistance covers, such as Substitute Vehicle, Roadside Assistance / Towing, Legal Protection, etc.

.

Fire and Allied Perils

Fire Insurance protects Property and its contents (furniture, equipment, stock, etc.) against damage by fire. In the case of condominiums (i.e. an ownership structure whereby a building is divided into several units that are each separately owned, regardless of them being vertical buildings or gated communities), as per Article n.º 1429 of Código Civil, this is a compulsory insurance.

Fire and Allied Perils Insurance (also known as Property Insurance) is a more comprehensive version of Fire Insurance. In addition to Fire, it includes other covers such as Tenants and Owners Liability, Storm, Flood, Water Damage, Landslide, Theft, Electrical Risks, etc.

Fire and Allied Perils Insurance can be purchased on a Named Perils basis, in which only risks that are specifically named in the policy are covered, or on an All Risks basis, in which all risks are covered, except for the ones that are explicitly excluded in the policy.

.

Plant All Risks (PAR)

Plant All Risks (PAR) Insurance covers the Insured for loss or damage of external origin, to the insured machinery, equipment, and installations, whether in operation or not, as well as during assembly or disassembly for cleaning, inspection, repair, maintenance or reinstallation purposes.

.

Machinery Breakdown

Machinery Breakdown Insurance protects the Insured against loss or damage to the insured equipment, as a result of a breakdown which occurs after its installation and while in operation, in case such damage requires repairing or replacing the equipment.
