Tiago Dá Mesquita

Tiago began his professional career at Deloitte Portugal in 2006, where he participated in several consulting projects in Angola and Portugal, focusing on the financial industry, including Activity-Based Costing projects, design and implementation of core insurance systems, development of bancassurance solutions, document management systems, process optimization and definition of functional profiles.

He joined Aon Angola (currently Zillian Angola) in 2009 as a Senior Account Executive, with responsibilities in the management of some of the company's key Clients in various industries including oil and gas, construction, logistics, etc. Subsequently, he designed, implemented, and led the company's Healthcare Division, dedicated to the management of Medical Plans and Medical Insurance. In 2013, he was appointed General Manager, a position he holds to date.

Tiago has extensive experience in placing complex insurance programs, both in Angola and in international reinsurance markets, having led placements in specialty lines such as Energy (Oil and Gas), Construction and Aviation.

In 2015, identifying a growing need for specialization among the company's teams, he created and equipped the Reinsurance Division, with a special focus on the placement of oil and gas risks.

He regularly participates as a trainer in the Energy (Oil & Gas) Insurance Seminars jointly organized by Zillian and Aon UK, aimed at training Angolan insurance industry executives and the main operators in the oil industry. He has led consulting projects for important organizations in the Angolan oil sector, focusing on risk management and staff training.

His areas of technical expertise are Medical Insurance, Third Party Liability, Energy Insurance, Facultative Reinsurance and Enterprise Information Systems. Tiago holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon, Portugal), an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Edinburgh Business School and the Diploma professional qualification (Dip CII) awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom.
